Q. What is the difference between a FT415 and a FT420?
A. An FT415 has a battery for self-contained operation. The FT420 needs external power.

Q. Can the FT415 be used with a standard flow sensor or flow meter?
A. No, the "micro-power" option must be specified on the flow sensor. This means that the flow sensor or flow meter is equipped with a special pickup which draws the least amount of current possible. Otherwise, the battery would run down in a matter of days.

Q. What is the battery life?
A. About three years under normal operation.

Q. Can I use an FT415 to drive a chemical metering pump?
A. Yes, it has a programmable pulse output for this purpose.

Q. How do I make the FT415 work with a particular flow sensor?
A. Each flow sensor has a "k-factor", which is the number of pulses per gallon which the flow sensor produces. When you first set up the FT415, it will prompt "SET K". Entering this number will allow the FT415 to calculate rate and total properly.
